Lip Mermaid Cosmetics has launched its first six products — matte lip gloss with glitter shapes, including stars, unicorns, and butterflies. The line is vegan and cruelty-free.

Based in San Diego, Lip Mermaid Cosmetics was founded by Erica Taylor in October 2018 — and says it is “the first and only brand fashioning glitter shapes into cosmetics with a patent-pending product.” The glitter shapes can be used on the face, body, and hair. 

Taylor says wanted to “encourage self-expression” so she started the line in her kitchen, packaging the line at home with the help of her family. Her aim was to “make on-the-go glitter application easy – and eliminate the troublesome mess of glitter explosions.”

Taylor says she plans to introduce glitter shapes that are specific to sports teams and music festivals in upcoming collections. She is scheduled to speak at the FABcon convention, at the at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas this winter.
